Staff at Bucks Play Association

General Manager:

Alan Dunham started working for Bucks Play Association in June 2010, after working as a Community Officer at Wycombe Wanderers Football Club for 12 years.

I live in Aylesbury with my wife Claire and our two daughters Amy and Charlotte, so access to the Let's Play Together Play Scheme and equipment hire service is very handy for us!! My hobbies include watching and playing football, golf, running, listening to music, watching films, and I also enjoy maintaining the family garden.

The post demands me to be very hands on, providing a variety of tasks and activities for me to fulfil. This makes it hugely rewarding as you feel you are having a positive impact on young peoples lives. I really enjoy the role of General Manager at the Association, overlooking a really enthusiastic and hard working team, that are warm and friendly to each other and all that are lucky enough to use any of the services provided. This is overlooked by a very supportive and knowledgeable board of trustees.

The General Manager is supported by his team:

All Play:

Angie Bamford I joined Bucks Play Association in May 2011, having worked previously for a Professional Childcare Company based in Amersham. As Manager, my role was to provide a safe and stimulating environment for children of varying ages, working in partnership with Sure Start and families alike. I thoroughly enjoyed engaging with the children during the art and craft sessions that were held and the children were able to learn and enhance their skills through play.

My husband is a member of our Church Council (a charity), which holds various fundraising events such as fetes throughout the year and I am also a Committee Member of our local Youth Club. Both of these organisations can benefit from hiring out the Bucks Play Association equipment and resources, which is brilliant and raises much needed funds for the local community and its children
Lets Play:

Claire Marshall I joined BPA in July 2008 as Deputy Play Leader of Lets Play and then promoted to Play Leader in October 2008. I live with my 16 year old daughter who has a rare medical condition. She attended Lets Play for 4 years before I joined the team, so I was more than aware of the importance of a play scheme like Lets Play.

I have worked in childcare for nearly 20 years in a wide range of settings; from childminding to full day care settings to managing a preschool. I have a Foundation Degree in Early Years and have recently completed a top up year to obtain a BA (hons) in Learning and Teaching through Northampton University. My previous experience has mainly been in education and early years until 2 years ago when I made the move into play work. This has been a positive and extremely rewarding career move.

Lets Play provides a unique service as our aim is inclusion first and foremost. The Lets Play team are highly trained and experienced with working will all children and we firmly believe that every child has the right to play and socialise in a safe and stimulating environment.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with BPA so far and I am looking forward to a bright and exciting future for the Association.
